New York Countryside

Earthwork

"A trip to New York City to visit Abrams Publishing House about my upcoming book led to the discovery of forty acres on the Upper West Side owned by the Trump Organization. The Old Penn. Square rail station was slated for development and for six months we negotiated for the site against other interests seeking Trump's attention and money. A decision was finally reached by The Trump Organization to allow me to create the image of my choice and that no money would exchange hands.

College students, brothers, artists, and three homeless men worked the summer away planting squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, soybeans, corn, and grass along side rocks, mulch, found materials and flowers to coax out the earthwork. The Image, in the undulating style of Tom Benton, depicted a country road leading out of the pristine Kansas landscape of my youth, juxtaposed against the steel and concrete canyons of Manhattan Island."

This is a 9 in. x 12 in. image of the New York Countryside earthwork in New York City. It is on an 11 in. x 14 in. 230 gsm weight vibrant matte paper with the title of the work and artist name below the image. This print will come with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.

This is a first limited edition.
